I just under one week, I’ll be in NYC for BlogHer 12!! I cannot believe this is happening. It’s been a long time dream of mine to visit and going for a blogging conference seems like the perfect reason to go.
Part of my goals for attending was to go outside my comfort zone. One way I’m doing that is by wearing clothing designs or colors that I normally wouldn’t buy.
I was pumped when IGIGI agreed to sponsor 2 dresses for me! I don’t normally buy dresses so I had lots of fun shopping for dresses to wear at BlogHer. I also love that as a plus size gal, I have options online to shop for dresses that are going to fit.
After taking a short quiz to find out what shape category my body fit in, I was off to choose my dresses. There are so many great styles and designs, it literally took me all afternoon to decide.
I decided to go with a dress for night and a dress for the day during the conference. If you’ve never been to BlogHer, there is a party called Sparklecorn. It’s an official BlogHer party and it’s fabulous. As the name suggests, it’s a party where sparkles rule. So, I decided to wear the Marquette Dress.
It has more sparkle than I normally wear but it’s not an over powering sparkle which is perfect for me. I’m pretty excited because I haven’t owned a dress even close like this since my high school proms.
Since I’ll be meeting my bloggy friends new and old and networking like no other, I wanted a dress to wear during the day that was comfortable but yet cute. I want to try and look my best. For those reasons, I also ordered the Dana Cotton Dress.
The description alone had me wanting this dress:
This rich purple dress is crafted from heat friendly cotton woven fabric with a touch of stretch for comfort making it weekend wear staple. Take this piece from day to night with a neutral wedge.
Heat friendly? Yes please! I’ll be in NYC in August. I live in Iowa and I can almost bet the weather is comparable. It’s been hotter than heck here. So a dress that is heat friendly is friends with me.
A huge thanks to IGIGI for sponsoring such fabulous dresses and making this ordinary working mom into fashionista for the weekend!!
By the way, if you see me at BlogHer, PLEASE stop me and say hello. This is only my 2nd time attending and I only know a handful of people and would love to make new friends!
Disclosure: I received dresses to wear to BlogHer in return for a review. As always, all thoughts are my own.

Nice!
I haven't got a clue what I'm going to pack. I'll stress out on Tuesday night when I get home from Florida and try to pack.
(Can we say stress?)
Talk about quick turn around! LOL
