I mentioned here that I’m going to get the Mother of the Year award from my son. We spent last Friday night at Curious George Live!!

You can’t tell it by this picture but…….

We had a blast! The show was in Council Bluffs, IA which is about a 1 1/2 hour drive for us. I took the whole day off and Jeremy took a half day. We had rain for our entire drive. The more south we went, the thicker the rain got. As we got closer to Council Bluff, we took the exit we normally take that we know is waaaay wrong. I still don’t get why we do that every time…
So, we decided to stop by Popeyes and have some grilled chicken. Huge mistake. I love Popeyes but we were probably in the most ghetto location and the attitudes of the clerks was to match. Def not worth $16 it cost us to eat. As we left, the rain turned to snow. No big deal.
As we trying to find our way to the Mid American Center, we get super lost. We end up in Omaha, NE at 5:30 during rush hour. As the snow picks up. With construction. It was lovely. Needless to say, we got our initial “it’s snowing and whomever is driving crappy” fight out of the way for the season. Eventually, we found our way with just a few minutes to spare.
Jack had no idea where we were going. All day I was telling him there was surprise. We gave them our tickets and walked into the lobby. The first thing Jack sees is the post with a list of the actors. It also had a George picture on the corner. After he saw this, you would think we was meeting the most famous person in the world. There were jumps and squeals.
We make it into the show room and the stage is already to go. Cue the squeals.

The music begins and some characters come out and do a song and dance. Then comes George.

Again, cue Jack’s squeals my Mommy happy tears. Jack is sitting on Jeremy’s lap so I can’t see his expression. Jeremy told me Jack was grinning from ear to ear and didn’t stop until the show was done.
I just have to say that the show did an awesome job finding the guy for the Man in the Yellow Hat character. What do you think?

I think he looks just like him. Even sounds like him. Maybe he’s actually the voice of him on the cartoon? That would be way cool if he was.
Another good thing about this show was that the toys were not high at all. Most of the toys ranged from $5 for a star that glows to $15 for the music cd. I was very pleased with these prices. I can totally do $5 for a light up star with George’s face on it. BTW, not to knock the Disney shows, but George had the exact same toy we got Jack at Playhouse Disney did and the George one was $7 while I paid $15 for the Handy Manny one. But, what can I say? We are headed to Disney on Ice.
